When you hire a professional to work on any part of your home or vehicle, it’s important that you are able to trust that person or company. After all, this is where you, your loved ones and your pets live. You have valuables and sentimental items. And if you’re hiring someone to work on your business, you have sensitive records there as well.
How do you find someone who is trustworthy, knowledgeable and experienced? ALOA is here to help.
ALOA Security Professionals Association, Inc., (ALOA) founded in 1955, is the preeminent association of locksmiths in the United States, and it has members worldwide.
Our members have been vetted by their peers and undergone background checks, providing you with assurance that when you hire an ALOA member, you are hiring a true professional. ALOA also offers continuing education and certification, providing its members with the resources to stay up to date on current technology and the latest products.
Locksmiths — or security professionals, as we call them — do more than just install locks on doors and make keys. They can be your first line in providing security recommendations for your entire home or business, from your door frames and doors to electronic access control, life safety code compliance, safe installation and more.
When you hire a professional locksmith, you’re getting the well-rounded expertise you need to ensure your safety and security — and that’s not always the case with other so-called professionals.
Sometimes, people in other related industries, such as construction, handyman work and security, may offer services that would fall under a locksmith’s area of service, but those people might not have the proper training for product selection and installation. Even further, they may not know the issues that could arise if something is installed incorrectly or a key is cut wrong.
For instance, there are certain fire and life safety codes that must be followed, and non-locksmiths might not know which kinds of locks provide the best security while still being code-compliant. Sometimes, a key cut a certain way can make your home or place of business easier to break into — and no one wants that.
